Terms & Conditions – Second Hand Car Sales & Warranties At High Wycombe Car Sales, we are committed to full compliance with UK consumer law and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which sets out your rights when buying a used vehicle. Vehicle Sales from High Wycombe Car Sales All vehicles purchased directly from us include a warranty of between 3 and 12 months, depending on the vehicle, age, and agreement at the point of sale. Our warranties are designed to cover major mechanical issues and provide peace of mind. Please note: electrical items are not covered under standard warranties. Customers may choose to extend their cover through trusted third-party providers such as Warrantywise. Part Exchange Vehicles (“Sold as Seen”) Vehicles that come to us as part exchange and are re-sold on a “trade sale” basis do not come with a warranty. These vehicles are sold “as seen” and at trade value. This is in line with UK motor trade practices and is reflected in our Terms & Conditions. Customers purchasing a part exchange vehicle are encouraged to satisfy themselves with the condition of the car before completing the purchase. You may also arrange for an independent RAC or AA inspection at your own cost for additional reassurance prior to purchase. Your Rights as a Consumer Under UK consumer law, if a car sold directly by us develops a serious fault soon after purchase, you may have rights to repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the circumstances. These protections apply to vehicles sold with a warranty and do not extend to cars sold “as seen” as part exchange stock. The following Terms & Conditions outline our approach to vehicle sales, part exchanges, warranties, and payment terms. Vehicle Sales All vehicles sold directly by High Wycombe Car Sales include a warranty of between 3 and 12 months, depending on the age, mileage, and agreement at the time of sale. Warranties cover major mechanical faults but do not cover electrical items. Extended warranties can be arranged via independent providers such as Warrantywise. Customers are welcome to commission an independent RAC or AA inspection at their own cost before completing a purchase. Part Exchange Vehicles Vehicles that come into stock via part exchange and are sold at trade value are provided on a “sold as seen” basis. These vehicles do not come with a warranty. Customers must satisfy themselves with the vehicle’s condition prior to purchase. In line with UK motor trade law, part exchange vehicles sold “as seen” are exempt from warranty coverage. Consumer Rights Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, vehicles sold directly by us (not part exchange/sold as seen) may be eligible for repair, replacement, or refund if a significant fault develops shortly after purchase. These rights apply in addition to any warranty provided by High Wycombe Car Sales or an independent provider. Payment Terms All payments must be made in full at the time of vehicle collection. Payments may be made by bank transfer, debit card, or other approved methods. No vehicle will be released until full cleared funds have been received. All charges (vehicle price, optional extras, admin fees, warranty costs, or delivery charges) will be clearly itemised and shown on the customer invoice. Invoice Terms Customers will receive a full invoice at the point of sale, detailing the vehicle price, VAT (if applicable), charges, and any additional costs. Copies of all invoices and associated sales documentation will be securely stored on file in line with GDPR requirements. As part of our ISO9001 compliance, all invoices and documents are maintained to the highest standards of accuracy, security, and audit control across our group of companies. All customer information, payment details, and records are stored securely and never shared with unauthorised parties.
